Life Lessons of the Week

I wrote this on Facebook but figured I should do a weekly thing here.  Break it up a little.  Time to do a new segment each week. So, this segment is to be called "Life Lessons." For this past week, here are the lessons learned in this home:

1) You must READ labels carefully. Otherwise, you will superglue your new press on nails to your fingers. Those suckers aren't going anywhere for a long, long time. (the super glue and nail glue are almost identical and next to each other)

2) When your mom says take the tent down when it is DRY, you listen. Why? B/c if not, it will be found months later molded and mildewed. URGHH!!!!

3) Put stuff back or it WILL get lost in a move. Above said tent now has NO poles. URGHH!!!

4) Learn your spicy words. One of the girls thought the bag of pretzel bits was some foreign food from Japan. Not Jalapenos. Same girl the day before thought she was getting Teriakyi slim Jim and not Tabasco.

5) Behave or you will get in trouble!

6) Listen carefully when Mom gives direction to follow to get home. Otherwise you will quickly learn the back roads of Oxford.

7) Swim diapers do NOT mean leak proof diapers. Be prepared to get peed on.

I'm sure there are more life lessons.  Too bad I didn't start this last week.  Could have talked about the car accident.  That's another post.  Do hope everyone is having a great weekend.  We are home.  Warren went and picked up the RV today.  Last item out of our old county.  Kids and I will be scrubbing it inside and out next week as it is supposed to cool off this coming week.  Bojan is sick today.  Throwing up sick so no fun.  Hoping he will be on the mends very soon.  One last Camp Cheerio post and then back to normal stuff.  tomorrow we must get things done around here.

Camp Cheerio-- part III D

The day that never ends.  Saturday is always the longest day at Camp Cheerio and always has so much fun packed into it.  Love it.  After the waterslide, it was dinner time.

Warren playing a game while doing daddy duty holding Little Guy.

Summer having way too much fun.

Irina waiting for her siblings so we could all trek to dinner together.

Sofie sporting a mustache that glows in teh dark and a shirt she made at camp.

Little Guy didn't keep the mustache on so long.  Notice, he holds on SO tight, he turns our fingers purple!  Literally.  Death grip.

Sofie and her buddy dancing.  These two hung out the whole time together.  Well, that is until Sofie decided she should take her to another building!  I'm telling you, that one needs a tag of some sort.  She is definitely my wanderer/ explorer.

The adults are just as much kids during the weekend as are the kids.  Keetha is such a great sport and I'm sure Bojan chatted her ears off.

Max with his glow in the dark glasses.  He's not much of a dancer so he headed for some quiet time at the cafeteria to read.

Since we had both sides of the cabin this year, the kids really got to spread out.

Sisters through and through.

Alyona getting ready to sleep.  This year, we realized ALL our sleeping bags were left in the RV...in the shop.  We improvised.

Summer fell asleep of course wtih her frog.  Love it.

Definitely exhausted from a long, long day.  He played hard but loved it.  No, he didn't sleep the whole night but at least most of it.  The next day it was time to say goodbye.  More in a bit.

Camp Cheerio-- part III C

I know there were quite a few pictures in the last post.  Will probably be the same for this one too.  Just so much to share about this wonderful camp that is like a second family to us.  Hope you all don't mind me sharing.  After the camp experience and the hikers were back, we all got ready for the waterslide.

Something knew this year.  Bojan is showing Nik how to shoot.

Love this picture.  Big brother helping little brother learn to shoot a gun.

It was too hard for him to cock it back.  So, bojan helped him every time.

Nik's aim was amazing for a first time shooter.

Reni learning.  She was having a really, really hard time but think that is b/c of her eyes.  She could not aim at all.  Also makes me wonder if we should get them checked before the year mark.  So, the instructor shot some for her.

Reni retrieving hers and Nik anxious to see how his sister did.

Reni and Nik showing off their targets.  Nik had a blast.  Reni does not like this one and is more fond of ziplining.

Nik and Bojan hanging out.

So, not so great picture of me.  No makeup, no sleep and there you have it.  But Nate was content.

And here comes Summer down the slide.  Nik was too fast so no pictures of him.

Little Guy decided at first that the grass was more fun.

Not sure about the tongue face.  LOL.

And he's thinking.  Here is the deal.  He kept pulling me up. So, I walked with him.  He went straight towards the slide.  Then, he takes me up the hill!

Nik in action.  best I could do w/ as fast as he's going.

Sofie is a pro at this now.

She is growing up, isn't she?  She was freezing.  But kept going.

Summer.  Wonder why she has shorts on?  B/c she didn't try her suit on before she packed and it was way, way too small.  We improvise at our house.

After Little Guy led me up the hill, I figured why not. Plopped him on Logan's lap and down he went.  He had SO MUCH fun, he wanted to go again.  I let him.  It was just pure joy for him and so nice to see.

Too many pictures on this post, so I"ll break it up again and have the rest of day two in another post.

Camp Cheerio-- part III B

I am determined to finish about Camp Cheerio this year.  So, so many other things to discuss.  So, Saturday after lunch, the high schoolers went hiking.  Warren took them as we have the big van.  I stayed back for the camp experience part of the trip.  I picked up Reni and Nik and Bojan came too since he couldn't hike.  And we met up with Alyona as well.  All of us went together to go do some activities.

Yep, that's her idea of participating at camp.

Nik getting almost to the top .  He did ring the bell and get to the top though.

Nik getting ready to shoot.

Bojan and Reni waiting for a turn at archery.

Reni, getting ready to shoot.  With her eyes, she seemed to have a great deal of trouble with this.

Bojan, also getting ready to shoot.

Alyona went last year.  Did not like it a bit.  So she just observed the zipliners.

Nik going down.  He went down several times.

Reni and Bojan getting geared up.

Nik helping tell his brother what he needs to do.  And of course get a picture with him.

And off he went.  The legs even stayed on!

Next up was Reni.  She....was....TERRIFIED!!!

Legs squatting up and down, up and down.

She was going back and forth with crying yet wanting to go.

The guide was beyond awesome and patient.  As was all her friends on the ground cheering her on.

Maybe, maybe not?

At this point, we thought she really wasn't going to go.

This is her walking up from the zipline, after she went down it.  Loved every minute of it and went about another five times between then and the next day.  After 15 minutes, lots of tears and lots of coaxing, Reni tried something new and loved it.  Proud of her.

Camp Cheerio-- part III

time to get back to finishing up about Camp Cheerio.  Just had lots going on lately.  So back to the story.  I finished up with day one and all that went on.  Now, we are on day two.  Time to wake up.

What we do every morning.  And love it.  Simple board, hook and ring.  Making one for here at some point.  Have to tie it to a tree branch though somehow.

Waiting in line for breakfast.

And everyone loves rocking in these chairs while taking in the mountain views.  Gorgeous!

Summer.  Giving me the eye.

And Max waiting for his group.  He was a volunteer for the high school group.

After breakfast, Warren and I went to class.  Then lunch came.  After, Warren drove to the mountain for the hike and did half the hike.  I participated in the classes and then we all met for dinner.  Well, actually, that afternoon I took Reni and Nik and Bojan around for the Camp Experience.  And that is next!
