Thoughtful Thursday

Well, it's Thursday.  And, as you know, it has been one crazy week.  Therefore, I have not paying all that much attention to what has been happening around me.  There is one very thoughtful thing I'd like to point out though for sure.

Max came home from school and I had no idea he had done this.  Hung up the sign and started doing a couple things  around the house.  This was the day I was so sick.  All the other middle schoolers coming home came in quietly and I found that odd.  Later that day, I found the sign on the door.  Very thoughtful of Max to think of me and my well being.

There were other things this past week but like I said, my mind has been in a fog.

Tomorrow is Nik's Special Olympics.  More on that tomorrow.  Just wanted a quick pop in and out.  Alive and well.  Sofie was sick today but seems to be passing.  More posts to come and pictures for sure.  Is a busy week and illness has added to that.

Blessings Abound

Haven't done one of these posts in awhile and truly it is time.  We are truly thankful for the people we have met over the years through this adoption journey. They have blessed us more than we could have ever imagined. Friendships have been formed, connections made, etc.  Wonderful.  From time to time though, we are blessed by gifts.  I just thought it was time to share a few of these generous gifts.

A dear friend delivered a tent to us the other day.  Obviously, this will get a lot of use over the next few years as we love to travel with the kids.  Half of us sleep in the tent, half in the RV.  Well, last trip, our tent finally had had enough.  It is toast with no way to repair it.  By giving us a brand new tent, we are now able to take the money we were going to spend on one and instead get the older kids the portable air conditioner that they really do need in the summer time when camping.  Thanks a bunch for your generous heart Linden!  It will be loved for years to come.

The other day, the realtor came by for us to sign papers.  Her mom brought all sorts of goodies and blessed our family with such awesome food.   Chicken noodle soup that is homemade tastes so good when not feeling well.  They polished it all off!  Here is Summer taste testing some goodies.

OMG!  The best soup ever!!!  It is a secret family recipe though and well, I can't make it so just means I get to enjoy it more when someone else makes it for me :)  This was gone that evening.  As was the chilli.

I will say she makes such wonderful desserts.  Cracked me up when the kids bit into these and were expecting peanut butter.  Instead, there are bananas inside.  LOL.  Still delicious though!  Big thanks to Ms. Cathy for making our week.  Our kids call her Mimi.  It was the best pick me up this week after people being so sick.

The other day, we received a package in the mail.

Kids were excited and ready to open it right then and there.

IRina and I started pulling out dress after handmade dress!

There were dresses of all styles and colors.  Beautifully handmade.  Once Nik realized it was not food, he was out of there.  There were even shirts for Alyona and Reni!  I can not wait to take some pictures of them all in their dresses.

I think she was most content with this one, don't you?!  Big huge thank you to Jennifer for blessing our family.  To take the time and love to make these was just from a very kind heart.

Those were just a few of the ways our family has been blessed over the last few weeks.

Sick, sick and more sick!

OMG!  This bug is super fast, super bad and super nasty.  There have been 8 people sick in this house in the last 3 days.  Not pleasant mind you.  House has been lysoled out the ying yang and sanitized up and down.  Windows are opened and I think we are turning a corner.  I say that and then wham, this happens:

That is Sofie this evening.  Laying by Daddy and out for the count.  102.8 when we gave her the Tylenol.  She is stable now and sleeping in her bed.  Threw up earlier today but okay.  Hoping tomorrow it will leave her and she will be the last of us.

It has been beyond a hard few days for this bunch but we've managed.  Yana had a track meet today and her boyfriend took Logan and Irina to watch as I had to stay with Sofie.  Then, it was Reni's birthday today as well.  In between stuff, I made two cakes and we had cake with Reni.  More on that in another post.  Warren called to say he couldn't find his keys.  Finally found them....in the car.  Been a long few days.  Miracle the tooth fairy remembered anything.

Here is Summer and her toothless grin.  Love it.  Anyhow, been a long day and lots going on and still haven't gotten to blog posts.  Sorry, sick kids are priority.  Hoping tomorrow Sofie is well and back to normal.  What is normal here?  LOL.  Big surprise coming tomorrow for the kids.  Tell you tomorrow.  Irina is off work tomorrow too.  Soccer game for Alex and Logan tomorrow.  Busy again.  Bummer.  Where is our rest?  Friday is Special Olympics.  More posts to share tomorrow pending Sofie is well.

Manic Monday

Another busy week at Chaos Manor so here's the rundown:

  • Alyona has an ortho appointment today (follow up for spinal fusion & look at arm)
  • Speech this week
  • Soccer this week
  • First soccer games for young ones this week
  • Special Olympics
  • Monthly shopping
  • Big surprise for the kids (shh)
  • Bojan is working on scuba diving
  • Going to Farmer's Market
Okay, started this but we have fallen ill at this house.  Warren, me, Irina, Alyona and now Max.  Thankfully, it seems to be very fast moving just tough right now to have the energy to do antyhing whatsoever.  Hard, long day.   Grateful that we rarely get sick at this house and counting my blessings this evening.  So, may be a day or two before back on here.  I hurt.  More to come in the next few days.  Lots and lots going on this week.  Stay well everyone!
