Taco Pie

As you know, I received a gift from my sister.  On it, was a recipe.  I figured, why not.  Well, it became an instant favorite amongst my kids and thought I'd share the recipe.  Wish there was a copy & paste for this but there is not. 

Okay, ignore the fact that the oven desperately needs cleaning.  This is what they look like when they go into the oven.  Doesn't take long to make and doesn't take long to cook.  Perfect for us.  Here's the recipe:


1 can of crescent rolls                       1pkg.  taco seasoning (dry)
1 lb.  lean ground beef                     1/2 pkg. water (I used the seasoning specs)
1 8oz. cont. sour cream                   1/2 bag crushed tortilla chips
1 8oz. pkg. shredded mild cheddar

Spray a pie plate w/ cooking spray.  Line the pie plate w/ the crescent rolls, making sure to overlap.  Fill any gaps and bring up to edge.  Sprinkle w/ half the tortilla chips.  Brown & drain ground beef.  Add taco seasoning and simmer for a few minutes.  

Top crescent rolls & chips w/ meat mixture.  Top w/ sour cream & shredded cheese & the remaining tortilla chips(I didn't use the second batch of chips on this).  

Bake at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes.

Serve w/ extra sour cream, salsa, or salsa con queso & shredded lettuce, tomatoes or other toppings of your choice.

We topped it w/ tomatoes and lettuce.
